Progress Reporting

You may have a client who is not in the immediate vicinity but would like to see progress on a construction project. A general contractor may want to keep an eye on progress especially during the initial construction phase. Aerial photography can record and report on progress from the initial dig until the structure is under roof. These pictures were taken a week apart and show the progress on this block of town homes.

Infrastructure Inspections

Inspecting infrastructure such as pipelines, cell towers and power transmission towers can be difficult not to mention dangerous. These infrastructure elements are generally in locations where bucket trucks can’t go and someone has to resort to climbing the tower or walking along the pipeline. Pipeline inspections are looking for slippage and erosion while tower inspections are studying the elements of the tower for structural failure due to the elements.

These shots are of a recent power transmission tower inspection.

By loading these images to a laptop an inspector would be able to expand the view to look for tiny cracks or other indications of insulator failure.

Infrared inspection of the tower and lines can give advance warnings of failures, cracks or overloads. Fortunately this tower appears to be in good shape.

Note each color palette shows a consistent spectrum of infrared signal. This indicates there are no “hot spots” that may need attention. The entire structure and wires passing through the tower are consistent temperatures.
